Governing innovation for a responsible future
ReD OPEN is a company spin-off from the University of Milano-Bicocca born in 2019 as an innovative start-up. With the aim of supporting and disseminating a responsible approach to the development and use of new technologies, ReD OPEN helps organisations govern the change induced by digital transformation and innovation.
ReD OPEN offers applications and specialist skills for the development of data protection policies and the design of transformative new digital products and services. It supports research and development activities aimed at harmonising organisational, regulatory, and technological plans in organisations with reference to the assessment of the impacts of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence.


Our contribution
to the Digital4Security project
ReD OPEN is involved in work packages Needs Analysis & Programme Design (WP2), Programme Rollout & Delivery (WP4) as well as in project management and coordination (WP1). In WP2, our commitment is focused on two main tasks: Identifying the skills needs of Companies and SMEs (T2.1) and Design the Employability Strategy (T2.5).
In this context we will leverage our knowledge of the internal dynamics of organisations resulting from successfully working with customers focused on digital transformation. Indeed, ReD OPEN’s primary asset in contributing to WP2 lies in the experience gained from working Our contribution to WP4 will be grounded in our academic roots, stemming from our university component that is aimed at knowledge transfer between academia and industry.
Specifically we will provide support on the following tasks: Student Mentoring and Support by Industry Experts (T4.3), Weekend Workshops, Networking Events and Guest Lectures (T4.4), Cyber Security Challenges & Projects (T4.5), Short courses , Work Based Learning & Employability Programme.
Our mission
ReD OPEN participates in the Digital4Security project as an industrial partner with a deep understanding of both the market and the communities of innovative learners, given its academic roots as a university spin-off company. Our mission is to underscore the importance of integrating cybersecurity to the compelling ethical aspect of technology, protecting privacy, and mitigating social impacts.
ReD OPEN aims to show future cybersecurity professionals that it is possible to protect the digital environment by designing and implementing responsible processes. In order to do this, we believe it is necessary to raise the awareness of the stakeholders involved in the processes so that they cons.
Furthermore, to contrast the mismatch between regulatory knowledge and the freedom of technological innovation, we think it is necessary to be able to foresee regulatory developments through continuous and structured learning that keeps track of market trends. The goal of ReD OPEN is to provide the skills to prepare cybersecurity experts for a dynamic, interconnected and evolving environment.
